Regarding this outage of WhatsApp, a Meta spokesperson said in a statement, “We are aware that some people are currently having problems sending messages and we are working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as soon as possible.” This statement was shared by a spokesperson for Meta with Reuters.
Both personal and group chats were affected
It is reported that this outage is affecting both personal chat as well as group chat. Messages are not being delivered or received in both personal chat and group chat due to outage. Outage detection website DownDetector has confirmed that WhatsApp is not working for thousands of users. The website has presented a heat map, according to which the affected areas include major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Lucknow. Due to this outage, the work of many people may come to a standstill.
WhatsApp Web also affected
Apart from the mobile app, this outage is also being seen on WhatsApp Web. From working in the office to running their business, many people have been affected by this.
