According to which, from the new session, students will be able to study graduation in many other languages apart from Hindi and English. Students will get the option of choosing languages for pursuing BA, B.Sc, B.Com courses from the academic session 2023-24. At the same time, students will also get the facility of multiple entry exit from the new session. During the four-year undergraduate program, students can obtain a certificate by doing a one-year course. Students who complete two years of diploma and three years of studies will get degree. Apart from this, it will depend on the student whether he exits the program in the third year or in the fourth year.
University Grants Commission Chairman Prof. M Jagadish Kumar has said that from the next academic session many options will be available to choose the language medium. Students will be able to study BA, B.Com and B.Sc in Hindi and English and other Indian languages. Pro. Kumar told that the UGC has also talked to the publishers for translating the books into Indian languages. Under the National Education Policy 2020, the work of translation of books in Hindi, Gujarati, Assamese, Kannada, Bengali, Punjabi, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu languages has been started.
Books will be available in digital format
UGC chairman has said that under the National Education Policy 2020, after engineering, students of other graduation programs also have to be given an opportunity to study in Indian languages. UGC will act as the nodal agency. Apart from this, Indian writers will also be encouraged to write books on non-technical subjects in Indian languages. UGC will provide all necessary help and support in respect of experts for identification, translation tools and editing of text books. Whose objective is to provide books in digital format at a low cost.
