Stock Market Closing On 6th March 2023: Investors played a tremendous Holi in the stock market. The stock market closed on a high due to buying in IT and banking stocks. At the end of today’s trading, the BSE Sensex closed at 60,266 with a gain of 451 points and the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 17,718 points with a jump of 127 points. Indian stock market will remain closed on Tuesday due to Holi holiday. The market will remain open on Wednesday. However, in many states of the country, the festival of Holi is on Wednesday only.

In today’s trading session, except the index of real estate and public sector banks, there has been a rise in the shares of all the sectors. Banking, IT, Auto, Pharma, Metals. Stocks from energy, infra, media, consumer durables, FMCG and healthcare sectors closed with impressive gains. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 25 stocks closed with gains while only 5 stocks closed down. Whereas, out of 50 stocks of Nifty, 38 stocks closed up while 12 closed down.

In today’s trade, Adani Enterprises closed with a gain of 5.50 per cent, Tata Motors 2.83 per cent, ONGC 2.56 per cent, NTPC 2.43 per cent, Power Grid 2.27 per cent, Infosys 1.90 per cent, Bajaj Finserv 1.88 per cent. Among the falling stocks, Britannia closed down by 2.09 per cent, Tata Steel by 1.26 per cent, JSW by 1.18 per cent, Hindalco by 0.58 per cent.
Rise in investor wealth
Due to the boom in the Indian stock market, there has been a spectacular jump in the wealth of the investors. In today’s trading session, the market cap of companies listed on BSE has increased to Rs 265.49 lakh crore, while it was Rs 263.34 lakh crore on Friday. That is, there has been a jump of Rs 2.15 lakh crore in the wealth of investors in today’s session.
