Google may launch cheaper Chromecast in October


Google Chromecast: Last week, some photos of a new Chromecast device with a Google TV and existing Chromecast-like design surfaced. After which it was being speculated that Google could launch a cheaper Chromecast in the market in October. According to media reports, photos of the new, cheaper Chromecast show that it looks like a Chromecast with Google TV.

According to the report, though it is similar to Chromecast with Google TV launched in 2020, it has a different model number – G454V. The model has already gone through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) verification. It is being told that Chromecast will get AV1 support, it will have an Amlogic S805X2 chipset with 2 GB RAM.

What to get with Chromecast

Although it is being said that it is slightly weaker than the 4K model. But this device can support 1080p output resolution. It is expected to come with the cheaper Chromecast Voice Remote. It is believed that this new low-cost Chromecast can be launched during Google’s October 6 event. Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro are to be launched in this event. The new Chromecast will come with USB-C to A cable, USB-A power adapter, Bluetooth voice remote and generic AA battery.

Chromecast with Google TV will be the newest addition to the Chromecast family. It will come with 4K HDR streaming, a bundled remote and an improved Google TV interface.
