Employment Data 2021-22: The number of people working in the organized sector in the country has reached 3.18 crore. The Ministry of Labor has released its quarterly employment survey, according to which the number of employees working in nine sectors under the organized sector has increased by 4 lakh between January and March of 2022 and this will be in the third quarter of 2021-22. It has increased from 3.14 crores to 3.18 crores.

According to the survey, the maximum number of 12.25 million people are employed in the manufacturing sector. After which the place of education sector comes in which 6.9 million i.e. 69 lakh people have got employment. 38 lakh people are employed in IT BPO and 33 lakh people in health sector. Only these four sectors account for 83 percent of the employment in nine sectors.

Manufacturing, construction, trade, transport, education, health, hotel-restaurant, IT BPO and financial services are included in these nine sectors. Institutions with more than 10 workers are included in this survey.

According to the Labor Ministry, according to the Sixth Economic Survey conducted in 2013-14, there were a total of 2.37 lakh workers. According to the survey, the participation of women workers was 31.6 percent in the third quarter, which has increased to 31.8 percent in the fourth quarter. In the healthcare sector, 52 percent of the workforce is women. Their share in education is 44 per cent, in financial services 41 per cent, in IT/BPO 36 per cent of the female workforce.
