Bid for Women’s IPL: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has started the process of auctioning the teams for the Women’s IPL, possibly starting from March this year. BCCI has issued a press statement, in which people and companies willing to buy teams have been requested to fill tenders by January 21.
According to the press statement, those interested in buying the teams will have to apply for participation in the auction by January 21 with a deposit of Rs 5 lakh. These 5 lakhs will be non-refundable. Please tell that some franchisees of men’s IPL are also showing interest in buying women’s IPL teams.
In February last year, the then BCCI president Sourav Ganguly had said that women’s IPL would start from 2023. In August 2022, the window of March 2023 was fixed for this. Almost a roadmap has been made to start this women’s IPL. It is believed that there can be 5 to 6 teams in the women’s IPL.
These teams can buy IPL franchises
BCCI Secretary Jai Shah has said that many IPL teams of the present are showing interest in buying franchises for women’s IPL as well. Apart from this, the Rajasthan Royals franchise has already expressed its desire to buy the women’s IPL team. Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders are also taking interest in it.
Men’s IPL will start from 01 April
Please tell that this year the men’s IPL will start from 01 April. At the same time, BCCI will have to finish it within 60 days. However, it has not been formally announced yet. But in many media reports, quoting BCCI sources, it has been claimed that IPL 2023 will start from 01 April.
