Best ODI Spell 2022: Even though Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has not played much cricket in 2022, but despite this he left no stone unturned to leave his mark. Bumrah played a total of 15 international matches in 2022, including five ODIs. He played three ODIs in South Africa and two in England. Despite playing only five ODIs, Bumrah had done something amazing that even Wisden is praising him. Wisden has chosen Bumrah’s bowling against England as the best ODI spell of the year.
Bumrah did a fatal bowling against England in the ODI match played at The Oval on 12 July. He spent only 19 runs while throwing three maidens in 7.2 overs and took a total of six wickets. This is the best performance of Bumrah’s ODI career. Due to this bowling of Bumrah, the England team was reduced to a score of 110. In response, India won the match in 18.4 overs without losing a wicket thanks to Rohit Sharma’s innings of 76 runs.
Bumrah is out for a long time due to injury
After finishing the England tour in July, Bumrah had a break of almost a month and then made a comeback in September with a three-match T20I series against Australia. Bumrah got hurt in this series and he was ruled out of Asia Cup. It was expected that Bumrah would be fit till the T20 World Cup, but this could not happen and he missed this tournament as well. Bumrah has still not been able to return to the Indian team. He is expected to return with the series against New Zealand starting in late January.
