Kokila Vrat Significance
According to religious texts, Dev Sati is considered as the form of a cuckoo. It is believed that Goddess Sati observed Kokila Vrat to get Shiva as her husband. Through this fast, auspicious fruits are obtained according to the mind. If there is any kind of problem coming in the marriage, then by observing this fast one gets happiness in marriage.
Kokila Vrat Puja Vidhi
On the day of Kokila Vrat, wear clean clothes after taking bath in Brahma Muhurta. Then anoint Panchamrit to Lord Bholenath and offer Gangajal. Use white flowers, belpatra, smell and incense etc. to Lord Shiva and red to Mother Parvati. After this, light a lamp of ghee and observe fasting throughout the day. Worship after sunset and then take fruits. Food is not taken in this fast. The food is taken only after breaking the fast on the next day.
