OnePlus TV50 Y1S Pro: OnePlus has earned a lot of name in the smart TV industry in a short time. The company has launched many good products, which people have liked. Some time ago OnePlus launched its new smart TV OnePlus TV50 Y1S Pro. This smart TV is a major upgrade over the older 43-inch model. Its price is Rs 32,999. Know in this review how this 50-inch smart TV of OnePlus is.

Design and Build Quality: Like other smart TVs in this range, the OnePlus TV50 Y1S Pro also comes with a slim profile and a neat design. There are very thin bezels on the top and sides of the screen, due to which the OnePlus TV50 Y1S Pro looks premium. At the bottom, there are slightly thicker bezels on the chin, which have been made for the IR receiver, power LED and OnePlus branding. Good finishing has also been given on the edges. OnePlus has used a plastic body in this TV, as you usually see in this range. However, if you touch the panel, you will feel that it is a high grade polycarbonate panel, which is stronger and more durable. The back panel is made of hard plastic. There isn’t much to talk about except the connectivity ports on the left. In terms of design and build quality, I liked the OnePlus TV50 Y1S Pro.

Display: As the name of the model suggests, the OnePlus TV50 Y1S Pro sports a 50-inch display. It is an Ultra-HD (4K) panel with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. For better viewing experience, OnePlus has supported popular HDR formats like HDR 10, HDR 10+ and HLG in this TV. While the support of Dolby Vision is not given in this TV. With this, the TV50 Y1S Pro gets 10-bit color depth, which offers more details in the bright and dark parts of the image with one billion color shades per frame. This makes the image quality even better. I played several 4K videos from YouTube on this TV to check the UHD performance of this TV, and every time I got good results. I also played some fast-paced action movies, and got a smoother experience on this TV because of the motion compensation. In basic viewing experience, I found the color reproduction of this TV to be accurate. Vibrant images with good contrast and brightness are available on this smart TV.

The company has also given Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) feature in OnePlus TV50 Y1S Pro. According to OnePlus, this feature works to provide a smooth gaming experience with low latency. I connected my Xbox to this TV and played some high-end games like Elden Ring and eFootball PES 2022. I did not have any complaints with this TV even while gaming. This TV of OnePlus has got a dedicated gaming mode separately, with the help of which you can connect your gaming console to this TV via HDMI.

Remote and Connectivity: You get a traditional OnePlus remote with the TV set, which has separate buttons for Google Assistant, Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+Hotstar. However, there is no dedicated button to turn off the TV. The TV turns off only after long-pressing the OnePlus button given in the remote. For connectivity, 2 USB 2.0 ports, an optical port and 3 HDMI 2.1 ports have been provided in the rear panel.

Sound: OnePlus TV50 Y1S Pro has two full-range stereo speakers, which give a total audio output of 24W. Dolby-Audio support has also been given in these. The sound of this model is loud and crisp, but the speakers do not produce good bass. Even if this TV is placed in a large room, the sound will still be good. If you are fond of music, then I would recommend you to get a good soundbar.

Verdict: The price of OnePlus TV50 Y1S Pro is 32,999. This model covers all the basic features that come in a premium smart TV. It gets a flagship design, the quality of the display is great, as well as the navigation experience remains seamless. I found one shortcoming in this TV. That is in its sound department. OnePlus had to do more work on the sound. But this shortcoming is not a deal breaker. At this price, this Smart TV can be a good option for those who are thinking of buying their first 4K TV.
