India vs Sri Lanka Rajkot: Suryakumar Yadav played a key role in India’s victory against Sri Lanka. He scored a stormy century in the match played in Rajkot. Surya talked to coach Rahul Dravid after the match. Dravid interviewed Surya in a very interesting way. Its video has been tweeted by BCCI. In this interview, Surya answered many questions related to his career as well as his performance.
Dravid started the conversation on a lighter note, saying, “It is good that I have someone here with me, who did not see me bat in my childhood.” To this Suryakumar replied, “No, I did.” Saw (you batting).”
Suryakumar said, “Actually it is difficult for me to choose any one innings. I enjoyed batting in all the tough conditions where I went to bat. Whatever I did in the last one year, I just enjoyed my game. I am doing the same thing again.
He said, “As I said before, I try to enjoy and express myself as much as possible. In those difficult situations, the team tries to win the match. I try to keep the team in the match. If it works well for me and the team, then I am happy.
Suryakumar gave the credit of his success in recent times to his family and also to Dravid. When this batsman was cementing his place at India A level, Dravid was handling the responsibility of that team. He said, “The role of family has been most important in my cricket journey so far. When I started playing cricket, he was the one who helped me. My father is an engineer so there is no history of sports in my family. I had to be a little different so that he could see the spark in me and support me.
