Uber app was hacked by 18 year old boy!

Uber claims about hacking: According to a report in the Associated Press, Uber has claimed hacking of its apps. The company says that the data of any user of the company has not been leaked in the latest hacking. The company said that the investigation did not find any evidence that the hackers had access to the data of the users. Uber apps were allegedly hacked by an 18-year-old boy. After hacking the apps, he sent several screenshots to cyber security researchers. Which suggests that he had access to cloud-based systems and code repositories.

According to media reports, after hacking the Uber apps, a person contacted The New York Times. This person claimed to be a hacker and sent screenshots of the internal Uber system that he had access to their system. The alleged hacker told The New York Times that he hacked Uber for fun and was considering leaking the company’s source code.

Uber apps have been hacked before

However, the company has denied these claims. The company says that all services including Uber, Uber Eats, Uber Freight and Uber Driver app have been restarted. Uber reported that the ride-hailing service had reported the hacking, shortly after which they discontinued their services. Earlier, in 2016, hackers allegedly stole information from more than 57 million driver and rider accounts. The hackers then contacted Uber and reportedly demanded $100,000 to remove a copy of the data they had.
