Twitter News: Twitter has uncovered a bug that allowed accounts to remain logged in on multiple devices even after a password reset. Due to this bug, users’ data was at risk of hacking. The company said it has fixed a bug that prevented all open accounts on Android and iOS devices from being closed after an account’s password was reset.
Micro-blogging platform Twitter said in a statement, “If you have changed your password on one device, but still had your account open on another device, that account cannot be closed.” Twitter came to know about this bug when it made changes to the power password reset system last year.
Serious allegations were made on Twitter
Twitter said it had directly notified those who may have been affected by the bug, asking them to log out and log in again with open accounts on all devices. The company did not say how many people were affected. The incident happened after his former security chief Peter made serious allegations on Twitter. Peter had alleged that the company had compromised the security of the users. Despite being aware of this bug, the company kept the information about this bug hidden.
