In today’s time, the safety of women is a very big issue. The Central Government has taken an important decision keeping in mind the safety of the girls of the country. Actually, the central government has prepared a special plan to make eight cities of the country the safest for girls and women. Under this special plan, suggestions will be taken from women to improve the shortcomings of police and municipal corporation. So that it can be completely strengthened and repaired. Simultaneously, this model will be implemented in other cities of the country as well. For your information, let us tell you that the government is aiming to complete this safe city project this year i.e. by December 2023.

Orders to start the project by the end of this year

However, Indever Pandey, Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development, has expressed concern over the March 29 meeting of the Nirbhaya Fund Committee and the slow pace of the Safe City project. According to a senior official of the ministry, a provision of Rs 2840.05 crore has been made in the Nirbhaya Fund for the project. Out of this Rs 888.94 crore has to be given to the state government. The committee has also ordered that the safe city project is to be completed by this year.

Women police personnel will also be a special part of this plan.

The official of this committee told that under the project, Delhi, Lucknow, Chennai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bengaluru have to stand on the model of the country’s safest city. Concrete arrangements will be made for smart pulsing in the cities. Along with this, at some selective places, arrangements will be made for women in selected vans. Drones and CCTV cameras will also be fitted. Along with this, arrangements will be made for women’s toilets, lights on all sides of the roads and patrolling by women police on vehicles ranging from two wheelers to 4 wheelers at night.

These arrangements will be made under the Safe City Project

After this project is implemented, there is a plan to install 111 pink petrol, 100 pink booths, 47 pink toilets, 3625 street lights in Lucknow. Along with this, a smart control room will be set up. Where everything will be monitored by sitting.

Along with the purchase of 88 Prahar vans for women constables in Delhi, 10,000 cameras have been approved by the central government.

In Ahmedabad, 40 Abhay vans, disaster centers, servillos vehicles as well as two female constables will be appointed in the cyber unit.

Cameras will be fitted on 100 poles in Bangalore. So that the surrounding activity can be monitored. A common center will be arranged for all these.

A cyber cell will be set up in Chennai for the prevention of crime. In which awareness will be spread in schools and colleges including panic buttons, pink petrol vehicles in 500 buses.

Arrangements will also be made for 155 petrol vehicles, 70 scooties, 25 portable bio toilets, 10 mobile chasing vans, 1020 CCTV cameras in Kolkata.
