Sensex-Nifty created history again, closed at historical levels due to buying in energy stocks

Stock Market Closing On 6 July 2023: Thursday’s trading session has also proved to be historic for the Indian stock market. Due to buying in banking, energy and auto stocks, the stock market again reached a new historical level. Both Sensex and Nifty have closed at their new record high. At the end of today’s trading, the BSE Sensex closed at 65,754 with a jump of 311 points and the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 19,585 points with a jump of 87 points. Earlier, Sensex had gone up to lifetime high of 65,832 and Nifty 19,512 points.

In today’s trade, heavy buying was seen in the stocks of the energy sector, especially in the shares of Reliance Industries and other oil marketing companies. Due to which the Nifty Energy Index has closed at 25,575 points with a jump of 540 points. This sector has contributed in driving away the market. Apart from this, buying was seen in the shares of Banking, Auto, Pharma, Metals, Media, Infra sector.

Big jump in investors’ wealth

In today’s trade, a jump of Rs 1.70 lakh crore has been seen in the wealth of investors. The market cap of companies listed on BSE has closed at Rs 301.70 lakh crore. Whereas on Wednesday it was closed at Rs 300.12 lakh crore. For the first time on Wednesday, the market cap of listed stocks on BSE was successful in crossing Rs 300 lakh crore.

In today’s trade, Mahindra & Mahindra closed with a gain of 4.97 per cent, Power Grid 3.79 per cent, Tata Motors 2.12 per cent, Reliance 2.07 per cent and NTPC .60 per cent. While Maruti Suzuki closed down by 1.40 per cent, HCL Tech by 1.23 per cent, Bajaj Finance by 1.05 per cent.
