Rest of India Wins Irani Trophy: The team of Rest of India has won the Irani Trophy. This team has won the trophy by defeating Saurashtra by 8 wickets. Rest of India got a target of 105 runs in the fourth innings, which was easily achieved by losing just two wickets. Fast bowler Mukesh Kumar was the ‘Player of the Match’. He took 5 wickets for 72 runs in the match.
Saurashtra’s first innings was reduced to 98
In this match played at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot, Rest of India won the toss and elected to bowl first. Rest of India’s captain Hanuma Vihari’s decision proved to be correct and the rest of India’s bowlers bundled out Saurashtra’s entire team for just 98 runs on the very first day. Here Mukesh Kumar took four wickets and Kuldeep Sen and Umran Malik took 3-3 wickets for the rest of India.
Sarfaraz’s century
Rest of India also had a poor start in the first innings and lost three wickets for 18 runs. From here, captain Hanuma Vihari (82) and Sarfaraz Khan (138) played strong innings and led the team towards a good score. Jayant Yadav (37) and Saurabh Kumar (55) also played well. Rest of India’s first innings ended on 374 runs. Saurashtra’s Chetan Sakaria got 5 and Unadkat and Chirag got 2 wickets each.

Strong bowling by Kuldeep Sen
Saurashtra had a poor start in the second innings as well. The team lost 5 wickets for 87 runs. Cheteshwar Pujara flopped in the second innings after the first innings. From here Sheldon Jackson (71), Arpit Vasavada (55), Prerak Mankad (72) and Jaydev Unadkat (89) took the team beyond 350. Saurashtra’s second innings ended on 380 runs. Here Kuldeep Sen took 5 and Saurabh Kumar took 3 wickets. Mukesh Kumar and Jayant Yadav also got 1-1 wickets.
Rest of India won by 8 wickets
Rest of India had now got a target of just 105 runs. The team lost the wickets of Priyank Panchal (2) and Yash Dhul (8) early. But after this Abhimanyu Easwaran (63) and Srikar Bharat (27) shared an unbeaten 81-run partnership to give their team an 8-wicket win.
