Registration of 50 lakh vehicles spoiling Delhi’s air will be canceled if seen on the road

Let us tell you that the Transport Department of Delhi has canceled the registration of more than 50 lakh vehicles in the state. According to the official figures of the department, the vehicles that have been deregistered include diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years. However, the registration of these vehicles has been cancelled. Now you cannot drive these vehicles on the roads of Delhi. If such vehicles are caught plying on the roads, they will be seized.

Let us tell you that Delhi has the highest number of cancellations of registered vehicles within 1 year. To curb vehicular pollution, Delhi Transport Department is cracking down on polluting vehicles. It is known that between the year 2018 to 2022, registrations of 53,38,045 vehicles have been canceled, in which registrations of 50,25,447 vehicles have been canceled till October 17 this year.

Now so many vehicles in Delhi
It is to be known that till January 31, there were about 1.34 crore registered vehicles in Delhi, out of which more than 78 lakh have been included as active vehicles by the Transport Department. Now only those who have valid registration in the state are active vehicles. According to a report, these vehicles are yet to complete their life cycle and are fit for plying on city roads.

Supreme Court banned
In the year 2018, the Supreme Court, under an order, banned the plying of 10-year-old diesel vehicles and 15-year-old petrol vehicles in Delhi. The vehicles whose registrations have been canceled include 46 lakh petrol vehicles older than 15 years, 4,15,362 diesel vehicles older than 10 years and 1,46,681 petrol and CNG vehicles.

Pollution was spreading in Delhi
Let us tell you that in the capital Delhi, its Air Quality Index (AQI) increased for the third consecutive day on Tuesday. There is no possibility of any improvement in the next 6 days. The 24-hour average AQI of Delhi has been 241 at 4 pm. It was 254 in Ghaziabad district, 258 in Faridabad, 216 in Greater Noida, 258 in Gurugram and 242 in Noida.
