WhatsApp launched Call Links Feature: Instant messaging app WhatsApp has launched a new feature. This feature was already available for iOS users, which has now been rolled out for Android users as well. The specialty of this feature is that with its help a group chat link or video chat link can be created like Google Meet. This feature is present in iOS under the name of “Call Links” feature. With its help, people can be invited to join the call.
According to a report by WABetaInfoa, the instant messaging app has rolled out link creation feature for iOS as well as Android users to join the call. Earlier, Meta-owned WhatsApp released the update for some Android beta users. However, now this feature has been rolled out for everyone. Now this ‘Call Links’ feature is available for both Android and iOS users. Earlier, the company’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg had announced a similar update for Facebook.
Video calling is completely secure
The website has also shared a screenshot of the new feature. When you create a link for a call, you can also choose the type of call (voice or video) and when more than two people join the call, the call automatically changes to a group call . In addition, call links created using Call are still end-to-end encryption, so people who haven’t joined the call can’t hear its sound.
This new feature of WhatsApp can be seen at the top of the call tab. If users see a new option named “Create Call Link”, it means that this feature is available on their WhatsApp account. Specifically, the phone numbers of users will appear in the link when they invite people to join the call.
