Pune University certificate course: With a view to prepare the students to be industry ready, the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Pune has announced to start more than 300 certificate courses for the students under the degree plus program. These courses can be done easily with regular BA, BCom and BSc degrees. There are more than 300 such certificate courses available on the university’s website, for which students can apply along with the regular course. The special thing is that most of these courses are free.
In the year 2021, under the leadership of the then Vice-Chancellor of SPPU Nitin Karmalkar, 300 to 350 courses have been made available to the students at less than the basic fee. The university offers courses in collaboration with educational and social organizations, including courses hosted by companies such as Harvard Business Online, Stanford University, AWS, Simply Learn and Celebrity School, as well as IBM.
Through Degree Plus, university students can enhance their knowledge in information technology, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, economics, culture, etc. The Vice Chancellor of SPPU said that maximum number of students should take advantage of this opportunity.
Many courses available for free
All courses are online, and many are available for free. The course schedule for the session 2022-23 has been released on the website and certificates will be given to the students on completion of the course. In its pilot run, around 26,000 students had enrolled for it and 5,000 students took admission.
