PG medical course admission cut-off marks 25% less, government approved

PG Medical Cut Off: The central government on Monday approved the reduction of cut-off marks for admission to PG medical courses for 2022-23. According to official sources, there will be a cut of 25 percent in the cut-off marks for all categories. It was pointed out that since such post-graduate seats are falling vacant, the high cut-off is a huge waste of resources, where post graduate medical seats are a premium, cut-off for admission to post-graduate courses for 2022 It has been decided to reduce the number by 23 to 25 percent in all categories. A large number of seats were left vacant in the PG counseling held in its last academic session.

In a meeting held on October 14, the NMC recommended reduction in the percentage of admission to PG medical courses for 2022. This decision has been taken on the basis of the recommendations of the National Medical Commission (NMC). According to the tweet of news agency PTI, the cut off marks will be cut by 25 percent in all categories. In the last session, about 1400 seats remained vacant mainly in pre and para clinical subjects.

Know how much reduction in cut off marks

It has been decided to reduce the cut-off for admission to post graduate courses from 23 to 25 per cent in all categories for 2022-23. As per the reduction of 25 per cent in cut-off marks in all categories, the revised qualifying percentage/cut off will be 25 per cent for general category candidates, 20 per cent for people with disabilities in general category (PWD, General) and for SC/ST candidates. 15% for both ST/OBC and for persons with disabilities in SC/ST/OBC category.
