Nine out of top 10 Sensex companies benefited, market cap increased by Rs 2.34 lakh crore

Market Capitalization: The market capitalization of nine of the top 10 Sensex companies collectively increased by Rs 2,34,097.42 crore last week. Reliance Industries was the biggest gainer amid the positive trend in the stock market. Last week, the 30-share BSE Sensex gained 1,464.42 points or 2.54 per cent. There was a holiday in the market on ‘Ramanavami’ on Thursday.

Reliance Industries benefited the most

In the week under review, the market capitalization of Reliance Industries increased by Rs 86,317.26 crore to reach Rs 15,77,092.66 crore. The market capitalization of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) increased by Rs 30,864.1 crore and reached Rs 11,73,018.69 crore. The market cap of HDFC Bank surged by Rs 26,782.76 crore to Rs 8,98,199.09 crore and that of Infosys gained Rs 19,601.95 crore to reach Rs 5,92,289.92 crore.

The market capitalization of Hindustan Unilever (HUL) increased by Rs 18,385.55 crore to reach Rs 6,01,201.66 crore. The market capitalization of ICICI Bank increased by Rs 17,644.35 crore and stood at Rs 6,12,532.60 crore. The market capitalization of State Bank of India (SBI) increased by Rs 16,153.55 crore to Rs 4,67,381.93 crore. HDFC’s valuation rose by Rs 12,155.78 crore to Rs 4,82,001.12 crore. ITC’s market cap climbed Rs 6,192.12 crore to Rs 4,76,552.34 crore.

Contrary to this trend, the market capitalization of Bharti Airtel declined by Rs 7,387.05 crore to Rs 4,17,577.59 crore. Due to the fall in the shares of Bharti Airtel, a decline of more than Rs 7 thousand crore was recorded in the market capitalization of this company.

Reliance Industries ranked first

Reliance Industries retained the first position in the list of top 10 companies. It was followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Hindustan Unilever, Infosys, HDFC, ITC, SBI and Bharti Airtel respectively.
