YouTube policy for fan accounts: YouTube has changed its monetization policy some time ago. However, this policy has not yet been implemented in India. According to the new policy, now creators will not need 4,000 hours of watch hours and 1000 subscribers or 10 million reel views to monetize the channel. Creators will now be able to monetize their channel after completing 3,000 hours and 500 subscribers. Instead of 10 million for reels, the company has fixed 3 million views. Meanwhile, the company has taken another step and this will cause trouble to those people who have created a fan account of a celebrity, actor or a popular creator on YouTube.
The new policy says this
Till now there was no policy for fan account on YouTube. People whose channel used to get less views, they used to increase the growth of their channel by using the content of popular creators and also earned money in the name of fan account. But now YouTube has brought some rules for Fan account which will be applicable from 21 August 2023.
Under the new policy, after August 21, if a person uses things like video/audio or background of any other channel for his own content, then the channel can be deleted by doing so. To avoid this, the creator has to tell that this channel is a Fan Account and does not represent the original creator, artist or entity. The company has brought this policy so that users can differentiate between original and fan accounts and follow the right person and idea.
Meanwhile, YouTube has brought another feature that will allow creators to dub videos on the platform in multiple languages with the help of AI. According to The Verge, YouTube has added the Teams feature to Aloud, an AI-powered dubbing tool developed within Google’s Area 120 incubator. This feature was added because YouTube recognizes the importance of meeting the needs of a wide variety of content creators and wants to make the platform better for everyone.
