It is very important for you to know that the Refund Tax Department will issue the refund only after your Income Tax Return is processed and you will get the notification of tax return processing under U/S 143(1) through email and SMS. You can check the status of the return by visiting the e-filing website of the Income Tax Department.

Check Refund Status on NSDL Website
1. Firstly visit the NSDL website ((https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/oltas/refundstatuslogin.html)
2. Enter your PAN Number and Assessment Year
3. Then enter the captcha code and click on submit button.
4. Based on the status of your refund, the message will be written there. If No Record Found is written, then it means that the tax department has not issued the refund.
Check Refund Status on Income Tax E-Filing Website
1. Visit the Income Tax e-Filing website ((https://eportal.incometax.gov.in/iec/foservices/#/login).
2. Login using PAN number and password.
3. Go to the E-File option and click on Income Tax Return.
4. Select Filed Returns and View Details. If no record is written, it means that the Income Tax Department has not issued the refund.
