Israel Declares LeT A Terrorist Group To Mark 15th Anniversary Of Mumbai Terror Attacks

Israel has declared Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) a terror outfit to mark the 15th year of commemoration of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. In a post on X, the Embassy of Israel in India said that to symbolise the 15 years of the Mumbai terror attack, the state of Israel has listed Lashkar-e- Taiba as a terror outfit.

“To symbolize the marking of the 15th year of commemoration of the Mumbai terror attacks, the state of Israel has listed Lashkar-e- Taiba as a Terror Organization. Despite not being requested by the Government of India to do so, the state of Israel has formally completed all necessary procedures and has satisfied all required checks and regulations to the result of introducing Lashkar -e- Taiba into the Israeli list of illegal terror organizations,” the post read.

Israel is currently engaged in its extensive ground offensive attack in the Gaza Strip after the latter launched a surprise assault on the Jewish nation on October 7. The situation in Gaza has deepened since the onset of the attack with Israeli forces tearing through the enclave to hit Hamas targets. It recently targeted Gaza’s largest hospital claiming that Hamas tunnels were found at the site.

Meanwhile, India has conveyed ‘a clear’ message at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip and said the country has always advocated for the resumption of direct negotiations towards establishing a sovereign, independent and viable state of Palestine.

Permanent Representative of India to the UN, Ruchira Kamboj said India backs all efforts by the international community that strive towards de-escalation of the conflict and backs the establishment of an independent state of Palestine “within secure and recognized borders side by side at peace with Israel”.
