Syed Musthaq Ali Trophy: Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma is currently running out of international cricket. Ishant, who is trying to make a comeback in the Indian team, is ready to play the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Delhi. Delhi’s new head coach Abhay Sharma has given a statement about Ishant. According to Sharma, having Ishant in the team is a great thing for young bowlers.
Regarding Ishant Sharma, the senior most fast bowler of the team, the head coach of Delhi told that Ishant was given additional responsibility in the team and he is enjoying it.
He said, “We have given a role to Ishant and he is enjoying it. He is helping fellow bowlers. He can understand the conditions better than anyone else and can tell which length to bowl. He is sharing his knowledge with new fast bowlers which is great for the team.”
The last season of domestic cricket for Delhi was quite disappointing. Delhi’s team could not go beyond the league stage in any of the T20, List-A or First-Class tournaments. For this season, Nitish Rana has been handed over the captaincy of the Delhi team, replacing Pradeep Saganwan. The Delhi team will start the Mushtaq Ali tournament in Jaipur. Apart from Ishant Sharma, Delhi will have another international fast bowler in the form of Navdeep Saini for this match.
