Indian stock market closes with strong gains due to buying in banking, IT stocks

Stock Market Closing on 29th March 2023: With Tuesday’s decline, Wednesday’s trading session has been spectacular for the Indian stock market. This boom has been seen in the market due to buying in banking, IT sector stocks. At the end of today’s trading, the BSE Sensex closed at 57,960 with a jump of 346 points and the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty crossed the 17,000 mark with a gain of 129 points and closed at 17,080 points.

In today’s trading session, buying was seen in all sectors like Banking, IT, Auto, FMCG, Metals, Media, Healthcare, Consumer Durables. Only oil and gas is such a sector whose stocks have seen a slight decline. The boom was that out of 50 stocks of Nifty, only 6 closed with a decline while 44 stocks remained fast. Whereas, out of 30 Sensex stocks, 26 closed with gains and only 4 closed down.

In today’s trading session, HCL Tech 2.72%, HUL 1.98%, Bajaj Finserv 1.93%, Tata Motors 1.85%, Bajaj Finance 1.70%, Mahindra & Mahindra 1.68%, UltraTech Cement 1.67%, SBI 1.62%, Kotak Mahindra 1.32%, NTPC 1.22 per cent, Tata Steel closed down by 1.07 per cent. While Bharti Airtel closed down by 0.63 per cent, Reliance by 0.56 per cent, Asian Paints by 0.53 per cent.

Rise in investor wealth

There has been a jump in the wealth of investors in today’s trading session. The market cap of companies listed on BSE has increased to Rs 254.77 lakh crore, which came down to Rs 252 lakh crore on Tuesday. In today’s trading session, there has been a jump of Rs 2.77 lakh crore in the wealth of investors.
