Stock Market Closing On 12th January 2023: The Indian stock market has closed with a decline. Although the market has shown recovery from the lower level. At one time the Sensex was down by 480 points and the Nifty was trading down by 140 points. But some buying returned in the market from the lower level. At the end of today’s trading, the BSE Sensex fell by 147 points and closed below 60,000 at 59,958 points. So the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange has closed at 17,858 points with a fall of 37 points.
Sectoral Report
Despite the fall in the market, the stocks of IT, Auto, Media sector remained strong. Whereas banking, energy, FMCG, consumer durables, healthcare, oil and gas, metals sector shares saw selling. Selling was also seen in midcap and smallcap stocks. Of the 30 Sensex stocks, 15 declined and 15 closed with gains. Whereas, out of 50 stocks of NSE Nifty, 26 stocks closed with a rise and 24 with a decline.

In today’s trade, the shares of UltraTech Cement closed with a gain of 1.81 per cent, Larsen 1.66 per cent, HCL Tech 1.62 per cent, Maruti Suzuki 1.08 per cent and Nestle 0.74 per cent. While Reliance closed down by 2.11 per cent, Axis Bank by 1.54 per cent, Tata Motors by 1.40 per cent, Kotak Mahindra by 1.26 per cent.
In today’s business, the market cap of the companies listed on BSE has been Rs 279.93 lakh crore. Trading took place in 3652 shares, in which 1613 shares closed with a rise and 1883 with a decline. There was no change in the price of 154 shares. The price of 113 shares touched their life time high while 50 shares fell to their 52-week low. In today’s trading session, 233 shares hit upper circuit.
