According to ANI, Indian Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu and Consul General, Consulate General of India, San Francisco, Dr TV Nagendra Prasad have been targeted in a poster purportedly circulated by Sikh extremists who have accused them of playing a role in the June killing of Khalistan Tiger Force chief and designated terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
Earlier in March, raising pro-Khalistan slogans, the protesters broke open the makeshift security barriers raised by the city police and installed two so-called Khalistani flags inside the Consulate premises. Two consulate personnel soon removed these flags, as reported by the news agency PTI. Soon thereafter, a group of angry protesters entered the consulate premises and started hitting the doors and windows with the iron rods.
