Hassan Ali Pakistan: Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali has been called up to English county side Warwickshire Arsenal for next season after being left out of the Test squad for the home series against England. Ali is Warwickshire’s first overseas signing for 2023 and has agreed a deal which will see him play the full Vitality Blast campaign until the end of July, including any possible knockout games and the LV Insurance County Championships.
Ali has shown his performance in T20 teams across the world. He has played 131 international matches and has taken nearly 200 T20 wickets for teams including Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in the Caribbean Super League (CSL).
Ali made his English debut for Lancashire last season, where he achieved hero status during a brief red-ball contract. He was the leading wicket-taker in Division One of the County Championship after four weeks, taking 25 wickets in five matches at an average of 20.60.
Ali said he has fond memories of playing at Edgbaston and is looking forward to joining the team. “I am delighted to have signed for Warwickshire as they are an ambitious club and Edgbaston is a ground where I have always enjoyed playing,” Ali was quoted as saying on the Warwickshire County Cricket Club (WCCC) website.
