The Telecom Department has asked the DGCA to expedite the replacement of the altimeters of the aircraft. Till then these services will not be available.

In a letter sent to Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea, the Telecom Department said that beyond this 2.1 km limit, 5G base stations can be set up in an area of ​​540 metres, but the power emission should be limited to 58 dBm/MHz. According to the letter, telecom service providers will have to adopt these measures with immediate effect and will remain in force until all aircraft radio altimeter filters are replaced by the DGCA.
