Tweet Edit feature: Twitter is going to roll out the tweet edit feature from September 21. This feature will first be available to those Blue subscribers who pay $4.99 per month. Tweet Edit Feature allows users to edit their tweets after they are published. An icon, timestamp and label will appear on the edited Tweets, indicating that the original Tweet has been edited.

A Twitter official, Casey Newton, said that tapping on the label will take viewers to the tweet’s edit history, which will show how many times the tweet has been edited in the past. He said that this facility is likely to be made available to the public from next week. He posted a tweet saying that Twitter is planning to start this feature from Wednesday 21 September 2022.

For a long time, there was a demand from Twitter users to provide edit button to Twitter users to correct typos and grammar mistakes. Earlier this month, Twitter first tested the Edit Tweet feature with its internal team, before rolling out the Edit Tweet feature to the public. Twitter said, with this feature, things like fixing typo errors, adding missing tags can be done.

Tweet edit feature will be launched in New Zealand first

Twitter said that it is intentionally making this feature available to a small group first, to know how people can abuse this feature. In this testing period, this facility will be started only for Blue subscribers of New Zealand. After this, taking lessons from the initial tests, can roll out this service worldwide.
