Google Pixel Face Unlock feature: Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are finally launching on October 6. Along with this, these phones are being launched in India. The company has made many revelations about the upcoming Pixel phone. But now, Google Play Console has revealed that the Pixel 7 series can be given a one-time face unlock feature.
Mishaal Rahman, a senior technical editor from Arizona, has mentioned two new features about the upcoming Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. They have claimed that Google may bring back the biometric face unlock feature. According to Rahman, both the phones can support the secure Face Unlock feature. Although earlier there were hints of Face Unlock feature for Pixel 6 Pro as well, but it never came.
Face Unlock on Pixel
The face unlocking functionality on the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will use the front-facing camera, which will be located at the top of the display. Since Google has been avoiding this feature in the Pixel phones launched after the Pixel 4 series, it will be interesting to see how the company implements a secure facial unlocking feature in the upcoming Pixel phones. For example, the Pixel 2 has introduced Face- Used detection auto-focus, also known as PDAF.
eSIM feature
Another interesting feature that Rahman found in the Google Play Console is the support for eSIM MEP, where MEP stands for Multiple Enabled Profiles. Some earlier reports also suggested the same. eSIM MEP will be a feature of Android 13 that will allow Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro to support two network providers on one eSIM. Apple recently rolled out multiple eSIM profile functionality on iPhones running iOS 16.
