Provisional Payroll Data of EPFO Employees: Jobs have increased in the organized sector in the country. Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has included 16.94 lakh subscribers in the month of August 2022. This number is 14.4 percent more than in August last year. According to the provisional figures of employees (payroll) kept on regular salary released on Thursday by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization, out of the total 16.94 lakh members during August, about 9.87 lakh new members came under the purview of EPFO for the first time. 9.87 lakh new members added
Let us tell you that out of 9.87 lakh new members added during the month of August, about 58.32 percent are in the age group of 18 to 25 years. About 7.07 lakh members exited the scheme but have joined the institutions under EPFO. Instead of opting for the last withdrawal option from their accounts, these people have transferred their funds to the previous PF account.
3.63 lakh women increased
According to sources, if we analyze about men and women, then in August 2022, 3.63 lakh women are connected to the purely organized sector. Also, there has been an increase of 22.60 percent in the membership of women compared to 1 year ago. In Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar on a monthly basis, there is a trend of increase in the number of members who are purely covered under EPFO.

EPFO data shows that Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Haryana and Delhi continue to lead the way in terms of jobs in the organized sector. These states have net added 11.25 lakh EPFO members during August 2022. This figure has been 66.44 percent of the added subscribers (members) across all age groups.
