DGCA to Air India: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has shown strictness in the matter of misbehavior with passengers in Air India flight. Along with this, DGCA has ordered Air India to make a list of passengers misbehaving in flight. Along with this, DGCA has ordered Air India to form a committee which can take its decision on banning passengers who misbehave in airlines from 1 day to whole life. This committee will take its decision within 30 days of any incident.
Two big incidents have happened in Air India
Air India is continuously in headlines for the last few days. On November 26, 2022, in a flight coming from New York to Delhi, a passenger urinated on his elderly co-passenger in a drunken state. The matter caught fire when the woman lodged her complaint by writing a letter to the chairman of Air India giving information about it for action. After this, an FIR was lodged by Air India in this matter on January 4 and then the person was arrested from Bangalore. The court had sent the accused to 14 judicial custody. Apart from this, on December 6, 2022, in an Air India flight coming from Paris to Delhi, a passenger in an inebriated state urinated on the blanket of a female passenger.

Showing strictness on both these big incidents, Air India has said that every airline will have to form a three-member committee for the earliest disposal of such a matter. It will include a retired judge of the sessions court, a person from other airlines and a member of the Passengers Association. This committee will get only 30 days time for quick disposal of such incidents. This committee can take action against any person found guilty and can ban him from 1 day to life. Along with this, this committee will have to make a list of those passengers who have been found guilty of misbehaving during flight, airport or during air travel.
DGCA reprimanded Air India
On both the incidents in Air India, DGCA has reprimanded the airlines saying that in both these cases the company showed lethargy and delayed in taking action. Along with this, while issuing a show cause notice to the airlines, asked them why action should not be taken against the airlines in this matter.
