Central Railway said that compared to last year, this year the collection has been many times more in the form of fines. This year there has been 74.83 percent more collection. This year, from April 1 to November 30, 2022, a total of Rs 218 crore has been collected by the Railways from passengers traveling without tickets. At the same time, only Rs 124.68 crore was recovered by this time last year.

In the last 1 year i.e. in the financial year 2021-2022 (April-March), in 12 months, the Central Railway collected a total fine of Rs 214.14 crore. At the same time, in the last 8 months i.e. from April to November 2022, a total fine of Rs 218 crore has been collected. This clearly shows that Railways has collected more fines in the financial year 2022-2023.
Heavy loss due to ticketless passengers
Due to the passengers traveling without tickets, there is a huge loss to the Railways (Indian Railway News). Railways charge many times more fine from such passengers. It is requested by the Railways that the passengers should always travel by train only after taking a valid ticket.
