<p><span style="color: #e03e2d;"><strong>PM Modi To Inaugurate Global Maritime India Summit 2023</strong></span></p>
<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Global Maritime India Summit 2023 on Tuesday in Mumbai via video conferencing. PM Modi tweeted, "Looking forward to addressing the Global Maritime India Summit 2023 at 10:30 AM tomorrow, 17th October, via video conferencing. This is an important forum which will bring together stakeholders from around the world to discuss crucial issues and chart the course for the future of maritime trade and development."</p>
<p>The Summit will be held from Tuesday to Thursday at the MMRDA Grounds in Mumbai.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The Prime Minister will also unveil a long-term blueprint&nbsp;for the Indian maritime blue economy till 2047 on this occasion. This blueprint outlines&nbsp;strategic initiatives which are aimed at enhancing port facilities, promoting sustainable practices, and facilitating international collaboration. PM Modi will also&nbsp;inaugurate, dedicate to the nation and lay the foundation stone of projects worth more than Rs 23,000 crore, that are aligned with the said blueprint for the Indian maritime blue economy.</p>
<p><span style="color: #e03e2d;"><strong>Supreme Court To Pronounce Verdict On Same-Sex Marriage Legalisation</strong></span></p>
<p>The Supreme Court on Tuesday will deliver the long-anticipated judgment regarding the legal recognition of same-sex marriage. A five-judge constitution bench, led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, reserved its verdict on the matter after an exhaustive 10-day hearing on May 11. The constitution bench comprises CJI DY Chandrachud, Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul, S Ravindra Bhat, Hima Kohli, and P S Narasimha, who jointly examined the pleas.</p>
<p>The Centre conveyed to the apex court earlier that issuing any constitutional declaration on the matter might not be the most prudent course of action, however, the bench asserted that passing a law to penalise the practice would require a fairly easy legislative consensus, comparing it to the earlier case of instant triple talaq.</p>
<p><span style="color: #e03e2d;"><strong>Mumbai airport to shut for post-monsoon runway repairs on Oct 17</strong></span></p>
<p>The two runways at Mumbai Airport, also known as the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), will be shut for six hours on October 17. During this period, there will be no flight operations. The maintenance work of both runways at the Airport will be undertaken between 11 am and 5 pm on Tuesday, said the airport operator in a statement.</p>
<p>The CSMIA tweeted, "As a part of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport’s (CSMIA) comprehensive post-monsoon runway maintenance plan, both runways – RWY 09/27 and RWY 14/32 will be temporarily non-operational on October 17 from 1100 hours to 1700 hours."</p>
