BHU starts internship program, students will get Rs 20,000

BHU Internship Program: Banaras Hindu University has started an internship program named after the country’s second President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The objective of the internship program is to provide professional exposure to the students to enhance their employability after completing their education. The program has been designed under the scheme of Institution of Eminence, BHU. The duration of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Internship is one year. In this programme, 100 posts will be filled in five subjects (library science, education, physical education, visual arts and performing arts).

Students who have a degree in any discipline and have been awarded gold, silver or bronze medals in any national or international events will also be eligible to apply for the internship. Selected candidates will be given internship on the basis of their merit and available opportunities.

BHU VC Professor Sudhir Kumar Jain said that there should be new opportunities for the students so that they can gain practical and professional experience which will help them to excel in their life and career. The scheme is being managed by Research Industrial Consultancy Cell (SRICC).

eligibility criteria

Students having degree in any discipline are eligible to apply for internship. Those who have been awarded gold, silver or bronze medals in national or international events in the five disciplines offered can also apply. The university has also listed the subject wise eligibility criteria.

library Science: Candidate should have a Master’s degree in Library Science or Computer Applications
education: BEd or MEd
physical education: Candidate should have Master’s Degree in Physical Education or Degree in any discipline with Medal for National or International Programs
Visual and Performing Arts: Similarly, candidates must have a master’s degree in visual or performing arts or have won a medal in a national or international event

Selection Process

The candidates will be selected through a discipline-level screening committee. The Vice Chancellor of BHU will form a university level committee which will interview the shortlisted candidates and make recommendations.
