Drinik Android Trojan Virus : Android users need to be careful because a new version of Drinik Android Trojan has been spotted. According to reports, this version is targeting users of 18 Indian banks. This virus can steal users’ personal information and bank related information. Let us tell you that Drinik Android Trojan is an old malware, which has been circulating among Android users in India since 2016. Scammers used this virus to steal SMS, but in September 2021, a banking Trojan has also been added to it, due to which your bank accounts can be affected. The government had already warned about this trojan for Android users.
SBI Bank is also in its target
This virus is targeting the customers of 27 banks including State Bank of India (SBI). This new version of Drinik virus leads the user to a phishing page, after which the user’s important data is stolen. According to reports, this virus has been developed as a full Android banking Trojan so that bank accounts can be easily targeted.
This virus works like this
Users install this virus as management tools of Income Tax Department, then this virus takes permission from users to read, receive and send SMS. Apart from this, this virus also takes permission to access call logs and external storage. Google disables Play Protect as soon as the user gives permission. It has also been revealed from the reports that this version of Drinik malware does not lead to the phishing page but opens the site of real income tax. After doing this, this malware steals the user’s data through screen recording.
The reason for this is that users share personal details on the site considering it as a real site. According to some reports, it has also come to the fore that a fake dialog box is also opened on the screen of the users, which claims to pay Rs 57100 to the users. As soon as the user clicks on the refund button, a phishing page is opened, which steals all the personal details of the user. This virus is very harmful because it can also take access to screen recording, key-logging, accessibility services and other information after being downloaded and installed in the users’ phones.
