Liton Das India vs Bangladesh: Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal has been ruled out of the ODI series against India due to a thigh injury. He is now doubtful to play in the Test series as well, which will start from December 14 in Chittagong. Tamim suffered this injury during a practice match on Wednesday.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has chosen wicketkeeper Liton Kumar Das for the captaincy in place of Tamim. The 28-year-old Liton made his ODI debut in 2015 against India. Liton has so far scored 1835 runs in 57 ODIs. He will captain Bangladesh in the ODI series for the first time. He will become the 15th captain of Bangladesh in the 50 over format.

Earlier on Thursday morning, fast bowler Taskin Ahmed was also ruled out of the first ODI due to a back injury. The BCB has called in Shoriful Islam in place of Taskin, who is currently playing in the unofficial Test against India A.

Taskin was injured during a domestic match on 20 November. He has been taking painkiller injections for the past few days. Earlier, he was out of the team due to injury at the beginning of the year as well. The first ODI against India will be played in Dhaka on Sunday.
