Airtel launched 5G service: Telecom company Bharti Airtel’s 5G services have started in the country from Sunday. Airtel has started 5G services in eight cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, Bangalore. Its Airtel says that it will start 5G services in many cities across the country by March 2023 and across India by March 2024.

With this Bharti Airtel has become the first company to launch 5G service in the country. The company’s CEO Sunil Mittal said that Airtel will launch 5G services in many cities across the country by March 2023 and across India by March 2024. According to the Department of Telecommunications, 5G technology will provide ten times better download speed than 4G. In the first phase, Airtel 5G is now available in eight cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Nagpur and Siliguri.

According to a senior company official, Airtel 5G services will be available at existing 4G rates and the new tariff plan for 5G will be announced sometime later. 5G services are also being started in Chennai, Hyderabad, Nagpur and Siliguri. Bharti Airtel’s Chief Technology Officer Randeep Singh said that the company’s backend infrastructure is ready for 5G.

No need to change 4G sim

He further said, people need a 5G phone to use the service, which is being launched today. They will not need to replace their existing 4G SIM. The Sunil Mittal-led firm recently acquired 19,867.8 MHz of spectrum in the 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 3300 MHz and 26 GHz bands. Bharti Airtel has acquired spectrum worth ₹43,084 crore in the recently concluded auction.
