Indian stock market closed down for the 7th consecutive day due to fall in IT and FMCG stocks

Stock Market Closing On 27th February 2023: The Indian stock market closed down for the seventh consecutive trading session. Selling again was seen in the Indian stock market on the first trading day of the week. Especially the shares of the IT sector saw a decline of about 2 percent, due to which this pressure has been seen on the market. At the end of today’s trading, the BSE Sensex closed down by 175 points at 59,288 points, while the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed down by 73 points at 17,392 points.

In today’s trading session, there was a boom in the stocks of the banking sector, apart from this, the shares of all the sectors closed down. Auto, IT, Metals, FMCG, Energy, Consumer Durables, Oil & Gas, Pharma, Healthcare sector stocks declined. Midcap and smallcap shares also closed down. Of the 30 BSE Sensex stocks, 12 closed with gains and 18 with losses. So out of 50 stocks of Nifty, 16 stocks closed with gains and 34 with losses.

If we look at the fast moving stocks in today’s session, Power Grid 2.02%, ICICI Bank 1.99%, Kotak Mahindra 1.82%, SBI 1.34%, HDFC 0.83%, NTPC 0.79%, IndusInd Bank 0.64%, HDFC Bank 0.60%, Asian Paints It closed with a gain of 0.40 per cent. Among the falling stocks, Tata Steel closed down by 3.37 per cent, Infosys by 2.71 per cent, Tata Motors by 2.29 per cent, TCS by 2.01 per cent, Mahindra & Mahindra by 1.81 per cent.

In today’s trading session too, investors have suffered heavy losses. The market cap of companies listed on BSE has come down to Rs 258 lakh crore. Whereas on Friday the market cap was Rs 260 lakh crore. That is, in today’s session, investors have suffered a loss of Rs 2 lakh crore.
