According to the report of foreign brokerage firm Jefferies and ET Telecom, telecom companies in India want to keep the rates of their 5G plans like 4G, that is, no increase in ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) of telecom companies is currently possible. . The research firm says that when the 5G service was launched in South Korea and China, the telecom companies there also kept the tariffs of 5G attractive, due to which the penetration of 5G in these two countries has reached 33 and 55 percent respectively.

The example given of China and South Korea

Foreign brokerage firm Jefferies says that while Chinese telecom companies kept the rates of data per GB low, South Korean companies offered unlimited plans with data, so that users could be attracted towards 5G service. The brokerage firm has also warned that while the number of 5G users has increased in these two countries, the ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) of telecom companies did not increase even after more data usage. The research firm said on the basis of global experience that ARPU will not increase in India on the basis of 5G only, but telecom companies will have to increase the tariff of both 4G and 5G, which is difficult.
