UP Warriors: The team name of the Lucknow franchise of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will be UP Warriors. The owner company of this franchise ‘Capri Global Holdings Pvt Ltd’ announced this name on Friday. Along with the name, the logo of the team has also been released. Let us tell you that UP Warriors will be one of the five teams that will play the Women’s Premier League this year.

The first season of the Women’s Premier League will be played from March 4 to 26. During this, there will be a total of 22 matches between 5 teams. Players are also to be auctioned for the first season on 13 February. At present, all the franchisees are busy preparing for it.

Many veterans are included in the coaching staff of UP Warriors
Former English cricketer John Lewis has been appointed as the head coach of UP Warriors. Arjuna Award winner Anju Jain has been made the assistant coach. Former Australian cricketer Ashley Noffke has been given the responsibility of bowling coach. The first auction of the Women’s Premier League is going to be held on 13 February at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai. A total of 409 players have been shortlisted for the auction. Out of these, the luck of 75 to 90 players will shine. Here all the five franchisees will have Rs 12-12 crores. Each franchise will be able to choose 15 to 18 players in their team.
