Kerala Women Entrepreneur Scheme: The Government of Kerala has launched several initiatives to promote and empower entrepreneurship among women. These include increasing the limit of loans available at concessional rates for women entrepreneurs. The state government announced them on March 08 on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

Scheme effective from this date

Under the new scheme, the government has increased the loan limit for women entrepreneurs to empower them. Women entrepreneurs in Kerala are given financial assistance under the V-Mission Kerala project of the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation. Even under this, women entrepreneurs used to get loans up to Rs 25 lakh at a concessional interest rate of 05 per cent. Now its limit has been increased to Rs 50 lakh. This change will be effective from 01 April.

Women entrepreneurs will be helped

Kerala’s Industries Minister P Rajeev gave information about new schemes in a meeting of women entrepreneurs organized by the Industries and Commerce Department on the occasion of International Women’s Day. He said that doubling the loan amount under KSIDC’s V-Mission Kerala project will help women entrepreneurs to expand their business. The minister said that apart from this, the time limit set for identifying, supporting and taking forward women entrepreneurs will also be increased from six months to one year.

Women will also get these benefits

The Kerala Bureau of Industrial Promotion said in a statement that the minister also announced grants for women’s cooperative societies. Now women’s cooperative societies will get a grant of Rs.05 lakh. This grant will be given to those co-operative societies, which will start operations in April. Apart from this, those co-operative societies can also take advantage of the grant, whose plans are to modernize operations or adopt new technologies. From April 01, 2023, women entrepreneurs of the state can get a place in the Incubation Center located in Kozhikode only by paying 50 percent rent.

The Kerala government has planned several programs under the Year of Entrepreneurs. The meeting of women entrepreneurs organized on International Women’s Day was held under the same. Its objective was to bring women entrepreneurs from all parts of the state together on a single platform. During the program, schemes and policies of the state government started keeping in mind the entrepreneurs were also mentioned.
