WTC Final 2023: Hardik Pandya will be seen handling the responsibility of captaining the Indian team in the first match of the 3-match ODI series against Australia starting from March 17. At the same time, after reaching the final of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023, it is expected that Hardik will also see a return to the Test team. Regarding this, now Hardik has made it clear from his statement that he is not going to be seen playing in the final match.
The final match of the ICC World Test Championship will be played at the Oval Stadium in London on 7 June. Keeping in mind the conditions in England, the Indian team will have to include a player in the playing eleven who is capable of batting along with fast bowling. Hardik also has the experience of playing there and he seems to fit perfectly in this role.
Hardik said during a conversation with reporters before the start of the ODI series against Australia regarding his return to the Test team that I am a morally very strong person. I haven’t even given my 10 per cent to get back into the Test team. In such a situation, it would not be right for me to return to the Test team and replace any other player. If I want to play Test cricket, I will work hard and earn my place.
want to focus on limited overs first
Hardik also made it clear in his statement that he will return to Test cricket only when he has fully established himself in the limited overs format. Let us tell you that in the last one year, Hardik has proved himself not only as a player but also as a captain, in which he made Gujarat Titans the winner in IPL and also captained Team India in T20 format.
