This year Matsya Jayanti is falling on Friday 24 March 2023. Tritiya Tithi of Chaitra Shuklapaksha is starting at 12:30 on March 23 and will end on March 24 at 05 pm. According to Udayatithi, Matsya Jayanti will be on March 24 and the Muhurta between 10:00 am to 04:15 pm will be auspicious for worship.

River bath is important on Matsya Jayanti. But if river bath is not possible, you can take bath at home by mixing pure water or Ganges water. After bath, first of all offer Arghya to Sun God. After this, take the resolution of the fast. Now prepare a post for worship and install a statue of Lord Vishnu by laying a yellow colored cloth in it. On this day the fish incarnation of Lord Vishnu is worshipped. Wear yellow clothes to God and apply sandalwood tilak, offer flowers, fruits, sweets naivedya etc. Light a lamp of ghee and then recite the story of the fish incarnation of Lord Vishnu or Matsya Purana.
