Once Emperor Akbar was waiting for Birbal for a long time. But Birbal was late in coming to the court. As soon as Birbal reached the court, Akbar asked him the reason for his late arrival. Birbal said that while coming, his small children stopped him and insisted not to go anywhere. But somehow I managed to coax the children out, due to which I got delayed.

Akbar did not believe Birbal’s words at all and started thinking that Birbal must be making false excuses for coming late. Akbar told Birbal that children are small and convincing them is not such a difficult task. If they do not agree, then sometimes they can be pacified by scolding a little.

When Birbal became a small child

But Birbal knew how difficult it is to explain to children. That’s why Birbal was not satisfied with this talk of Akbar. Then a solution was suggested to Birbal. He placed a condition in front of Akbar and said, Jahampanah! I can prove that it is really difficult to explain to small children. But there is a condition for that, I have to behave like a small child and you have to make me understand. Akbar also agreed to this condition of Birbal.

After this Birbal started behaving like a child. They started shouting and crying. Akbar convinced him and made him sit on his lap. Birbal sat on Akbar’s lap like a child and started playing with his long moustache. Sometimes he spoils their faces like children and sometimes pulls their moustaches. Till now Akbar was not having any objection.

Akbar grabbed his head because of Birbal’s stubbornness.

After this Birbal got tired of playing with Akbar’s moustache. After this he insisted on eating sugarcane. Akbar ordered his soldiers to bring sugarcane for the child Birbal. When sugarcane arrived, Birbal insisted that he wanted peeled sugarcane. Then peeled sugarcane was brought. After this, Birbal started crying loudly like a child and took a new insistence that he wanted the sugarcane cut into small pieces.

After this the sugarcane was cut into small pieces. When Akbar asked Birbal to eat sugarcane cut into pieces, Birbal threw those pieces on the ground. The king got very angry due to these antics of Birbal. The king angrily said to Birbal, why did you throw the sugarcane down? Eat it quietly. After hearing the scolding, Birbal started crying and screaming even more loudly.

After this Akbar asked lovingly, say Birbal. Why are you crying? Birbal said, now I want a big sugarcane, not a small one. Akbar brought a big sugarcane. But Birbal did not even touch that big sugarcane.

After this, Akbar’s anger increased further. He told Birbal that according to your stubbornness, you have been given a big sugarcane, then why are you crying without eating it. Birbal replied, I have to eat a big sugarcane by adding these small pieces. After this Akbar, after listening to this stubbornness of Birbal, held his head and went to his place and sat down.

Seeing Akbar upset, Birbal ended the drama of becoming a child and asked Akbar, do you now agree with me that it is definitely a difficult task to explain to children. Akbar nodded his head saying yes and started smiling at Birbal.
