Many times we also take support of WhatsApp for calls and video calling, but the case of Jammu and Kashmir which has come up recently has displayed WhatsApp in a different way. According to a PTI report, a pregnant woman with labor complications required immediate medical attention. She was stranded in an area called Keran in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. It was snowing heavily, due to which many difficulties were being faced. Now doctors found an alternative solution to deliver the baby safely. Luckily, doctors were able to help the woman through a WhatsApp call.

Block Medical Officer of Kralpora Dr. Mir Mohammad Shafi told that the woman was admitted to Keran PHC (Primary Health Center) on Friday night. The woman had labor complications earlier as well, due to which the situation was made even more dangerous. Doctors knew they needed to take the woman to a hospital with better resources, but it was not possible to do so because of the snowfall. Seeing no other option, the medical team had to depend on technology for immediate care.
How was the baby born?
Dr. Parvez, a gynaecologist, explained the process of delivery over a WhatsApp call to Dr. Arshad Sofi and his paramedical staff at Keran PHC. Using WhatsApp, he guided her and finally, she successfully delivered a healthy baby boy. Actually, Dr. Shafi told that the patient was induced for normal delivery and after six hours a healthy baby girl was born. At present, both the child and the mother are under the observation of the hospital.
