Zimbabwe vs Ireland, T20 World Cup 2022: Zimbabwe captain Craig Ervine has revealed that he had planned to bowl full length after seeing Ireland bowling in the first innings of the T20 World Cup Group B first round match at the Bellerive Oval. He made a successful defense of 174/7. On Monday, apart from the extra bounce off the pitch, the fast bowlers were getting plenty of help, with Zimbabwe new-ball pair Blessing Mujarbani and Richard Ngarwa taking four wickets in the power-play to reduce Ireland to 22/4 in the fourth over. However, Ireland were reduced to 143/9 in 20 overs as Zimbabwe won by 31 runs.

After the match, Ervine said, “We had planned to bowl full length after watching Ireland’s innings. We thought Ireland bowled too little at times. Richard and Bless bowled brilliantly.”

Erwin had some special praise for all-rounder Sikandar Raza, as he scored 82 runs to help Zimbabwe achieve 174/7 in 20 overs. He added, “He has been a great player for us over the last few months. It is exciting to see him continue that form again in different conditions. His form hasn’t changed even on bouncy pitches, so He deserves the credit for the win.”

Ervine was happy to make a comeback from Zimbabwe’s T20 World Cup win since his inclusion in the 2016 season, but was a little sad to see Ireland not being bowled out at the end of the innings apart from poor fielding.

Sikandar Raza played a brilliant innings of 82 runs for Zimbabwe. In his innings of 48 balls, Raza hit 5 fours and 5 sixes. At the same time, Blessing Mujarbani took three wickets in the bowling. On the other hand, R Nagarwa and Tendai Chatara got two successes each.
