Air India VRS Offer: Air India, which has become the Tata Group’s aviation company, has come up with a Voluntary Retirement Scheme for its non-flying staff. After the acquisition of the airlines in January 2022, the Tata group has brought the offer of VRS for the second time.
VRS offer is for permanent General Cadre officers who are above 40 years of age and have served with airlines continuously for more than 5 years. Apart from this, such clerical and unskilled category employees can also participate in this VRS scheme, who have been associated with the company continuously for five years. Air India’s VRS offer will be open till 30 April 2023. There are more than 2100 such employees who are eligible to take advantage of this VRS offer. At present, the airlines have around 11,000 flying and non-flying staff.
In June 2022, Air India had brought VRS scheme for the first time. On behalf of the employees, there was a demand for additional benefits under VRS for permanent employees. After this, Air India has brought VRS scheme for the second time. From March 17 to April 30, 2023, employees can apply for VRS. Along with this, compensation will also be given to these employees as a one-time benefit. Air India has informed the employees that those employees who apply for VRS by March 31, 2023 will be given a compensation of more than Rs 1 lakh.
Earlier, the VRS scheme that Air India had brought was for both flying and non-flying employees. 4200 employees were eligible to participate in VRS. But only 1500 people accepted the offer.
