Vinesh Phogat will take training in Bulgaria, government approved the proposal

Vinesh Phogat Wrestling Training Bulgaria: Sports Ministry has approved the proposal of wrestler Vinesh Phogat to train in Belmeken, Bulgaria, which is a high training area located at an altitude of about 2600 meters above sea level. Vinesh, who is accompanied by her physio Ashwini Patil, is training under former Olympic silver medalist Serafim Barzakov at the camp, which is scheduled to last for 19 days (November 7 to 26, 2022).

The international camp is also expected to feature other top wrestlers such as 2021 World Championship gold medalist Bilyana Dudova and 2020 Olympic bronze medalist Evelina Nikolova among several other prominent wrestlers.

Funding for this is being provided under the Sports Authority of India’s (SAI) Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) and covers the cost of flight, accommodation, local travel and food for Vinesh and her physio. Topps will also provide him a pocket allowance of $50 per day for any other expenses.

Meanwhile, Topps is also all set to financially support Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist Bajrang Punia to participate in the Bill Farrell International Wrestling Championship, which will be held in New York, USA from November 18 to 19, 2022. The competition will give Bajrang an opportunity to compete against some of the leading and upcoming wrestlers from the United States, who were among the best wrestlers in the men’s freestyle events at the recently concluded World Wrestling Championships 2022.

Significantly, Vinesh has had a great performance in international matches. She has won gold medal in Asian Games 2018. Earlier, she had won the bronze medal in 2014. Vinesh has won gold medal in Commonwealth Games 2014, 2018 and 2022. Along with this, she has also won silver and bronze medals.
